Pay Per Click Universe – February 2/09 – Vol. 6, Issue 3

Editor’s Note
Back to the Basics in PPC

It’s getting more difficult to know where to turn in your PPC ad campaigns, with some sources reporting that PPC revenues have actually increased significantly year-over-year from fourth quarter 2007 to 2008 and others more cautious about suggesting that things are fine in the PPC advertising world (a LOT more cautious). But one thing you can do is check out your campaigns, finetune them, fix anything that is leaking clicks or costs, and test, test, test. One great post in the last couple of weeks by Brad Geddes of bgTheory LLC can help here — it’s a Step by Step Guide to Checking Your Entire PPC Account for Broken Links — be sure to take a look!

We are adding a listing of upcoming events to the newsletter with this edition, with links to upcoming conferences. Any comments or suggestions for the Pay Per Click Universe Journal can be sent to me via email at  [email protected].

Google Conversion Optimizer: The Best-Kept Secret in PPC? – January 23, 2009

Posted By SearchEngineWatch – “It’s been a struggle — a BIG struggle — to pull myself away from Twitter long enough to write this column. It’s a cursed addiction. Don’t go near it. But if you’re already hooked, follow me. I’m going to go out of sequence again and describe a new Google AdWords that will, IMHO, change PPC advertising in a fundamental way.” Read the rest of the news item here.
