“MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (November 30, 2007) – Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) announced today that it will apply to participate in the Federal Communications Commission’s upcoming auction of wireless spectrum in the 700 megahertz (MHz) band.” Read the entire press release here.

“Files published in Portable Document Format aren’t the most plentiful pages on the Web, but they represent a pretty large available audience. Adobe says it has distributed approximately 500 million Acrobat readers globally, which are used to read everything from archived versions of print magazines to regional newsletters to instruction manuals. Now the software giant is eager to determine whether the documents can join in the digital advertising jamboree that’s powered so much other free content.” Read the entire news item here.

“With more days to buy online this holiday season before shipping cut-offs, shoppers rang up $531 million in online retail spending on Black Friday, according to data released yesterday by comScore. The research firm views the 22 percent growth in sales compared to Black Friday of last year as “a sign of positive momentum,” said comScore Chairman Gian Fulgoni in a statement. The $531 million total outpaces the overall growth rate of 17 percent, which occurred in the first 23 days of November when shoppers made transactions valued at a total of $9.3 billion online, according to comScore. “SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Google Inc enjoyed one of its biggest monthly gains in U.S. Web search market share in October, building on consistent gains over the past two years, according to industry data out on Wednesday. Market research firm comScore Inc said Google’s core Web search properties captured 58.5 percent of the U.S. market in October, up from 57.0 percent in September.” Read the entire news item here.
