If you are a United-States-based business, you may only consider using American-based PPC management tools, but there are some excellent alternatives available elsewhere that are competitive to comparable U.S. products. If you are looking for a new or replacement web analytics solutions, you may want to consider some of these products, especially if you do business overseas and would like the convenience of web analytics from a firm that covers both the U.S.-based search engines as well as a variety of international search engines.

For example, for web analytics, ThinkMetrics is an English firm (part of ThinkUK}, which not only covers U.S. search engines, but also ones for Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Portugal, and International South America. In sum, they offer access to 250 search engines in 10 languages. As well, their software offers an option to set the time zone for results you are analyzing, so that you can view the statistics in “local” time in Germany even if you are in the United States.

The company forged an alliance in April with Espotting to deliver pay-per-call analytics if your advertising needs extend to that option. Even if you deal only with the market on this side of the “pond”, however, ThinkMetrics offers intriguing options, including tapping into statistics on the growing Latin American market and specific Canadian-based search engines.

In addition to the usual analytics that advertisers are used to receiving from a full-featured web analytics program, such as tracking a user’s path through your website, the URL they arrived from, the URL they left to, how long they spent on each page, etc., ThinkMetrics allows you to view reports based either upon the behavior of visitors or by the details of visits to a specific web page.

There are two versions of the software – InSite and InSite Gold – with the main difference being that the Gold version adds search engine placement analysis, reporting your listings in a great number of search engines. Another interesting feature is the ability to compare up to 4 time periods worth of data at once (for example, you could see how a landing page has performed over the last four months).

Reports are updated every hour and are available 24/7. The company is very responsive to comments and inquiries and willing to consider suggestions for changes that would make their product more useful.

Unlimited, free support is available via email or telephone. Response time for support is extremely quick (based on my own experience) - a pleasant change from sometimes having to wait days for an answer. There is a free PDF help manual on their website which explains in great detail what each statistic is based upon. Also, a free online tour of the product is easily accessible on-site.

ThinkMetrics can install the system remotely, but the product is billed as “plug and play” in terms of the ease of installation. Custom solutions are also available.

Although the company states that “With InSite we can offer you a sophisticated solution at a price anyone can afford”, I could not find specific price points on their website, perhaps because of the different currencies they deal with in having international clients. Despite this, if you want an international web analytics solution, I suggest you take the free online tour and contact the company for pricing if you are interested. Given the speed of their customer service, I doubt that you will wait long before hearing from them concerning pricing.
